A man is dead and another is facing a murder charge after an incident in Brazeau County earlier this week.
On Monday October 17 Breton RCMP received a report requesting a welfare check on a male at a rural property in Brazeau County. Upon arrival, officers spoke to and arrested a male on outstanding warrants. After conducting a search of the property, RCMP located a deceased male. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was called to investigate. The deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Robert Charles Marshall, of Brazeau County.
An autopsy was conducted October 19 by the medical examiner who determined the manner of death is a homicide.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged Shane Allen Marshall, 37, of Rimbey, with second degree murder.
Shane Marshall was taken before a Justice of the Peace where he was remanded in custody with his next appearance set for November 9 at Breton Provincial Court.
