Chamber keeps money in the community

The Drayton Valley and District Chamber of Commerce is looking for businesses to participate in their annual passport program.

The program is aimed at promoting local shopping with chamber cash incentives and prizes up for grabs. Last year was the first year the chamber moved the program from running exclusively during the holidays to running year round, with quarterly prize draws. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diane Huska reported that the program kept $616,555 in the community in 2022.

“The program went well, with only 38 businesses on it. We would like to see more businesses on it this year and keep even more money in Drayton by shopping local,” said Huska.

Huska was pleased with the community participation. “We would like to give all the people who used the passport cards a big thank you,” said Huska.

Huska said the chamber is looking to launch the 2023 program at the end of April and it will run until mid-December. For more information on the program give the Drayton Valley and District Chamber of Commerce a call at 780-898-1859.
