After a whirlwind of a school year, the high schools in Drayton Valley and the surrounding area have been busy wrapping up plans and putting on their graduation ceremonies.
Breton High School
Breton High School kicked off the grad festivities this year on June 10. They began at 2:30 with an outdoor ceremony and then finished up the day with a reverse parade where parents and friends were able to drive by and see the grads in their tuxedos and dresses.
Holy Trinity Academy
Next up is Holy Trinity Academy who will be having a church ceremony for just the graduating class on June 17. The following day, June 18, they will be having a parade starting at St. Anthony’s Catholic church and going to Holy Trinity Academy beginning at 4pm. Once the students arrive at the school they will be having an outdoor commencement ceremony. With an outdoor grad slideshow and fireworks to follow.
Buck Mountain Central High School
Buck Mountain High School will go next on June 25 with a live streamed ceremony for parents and families to watch as well as allowing two cars in the school parking lot for each grad to watch their grad walk across the stage.
Frank Maddock High School
Frank Maddock High School will host its festivities on June 26. The students will begin their day with a walk across the stage to receive their diplomas in the student parking area. The students will then head home and get into their grad prom dresses and tuxedos. That evening they will all line up six feet apart outside the front of the school and parents and loved ones will be able to drive past and take photos.
