Dufault says there were 48 performers in total at the festival this year, though many performed in more than one category. Those participating in the event ranged from age six to adult, and all were from the Drayton Valley area.
Over the past year, Thurston says the players have learned to trust each other. He says he was happy with their structure and the systems. “They came into this season as boys and they left men,” says Thurston. “They grew as a group, they grew as players, but they also grew as individuals.”
